Vice President, Compliance

The Vice President, Compliance will lead major compliance related programs, projects and processes with significant business impact. Complete complex assignments with substantial latitude for autonomous actions and decisions will be assigned. 

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • 3 direct reports and 20 indirect reports across Compliance, Quality Control, Mortgage Disclosure Desk
  • Serve as a member of the Compliance management team in developing short and long term goals and initiatives to achieve strategic vision
  • Deliver Compliance organizational change through the development of an operating model that supports effective collaboration across the first, second and third lines of defense
  • Play a leadership role within the Compliance team to ensure that deliverables are planned out, in-scope, on-time and of high quality
  • Program manage the delivery of large scale compliance programs to ensure company is prepared and compliant with all upcoming regulatory and internal obligations
  • Bridge business and compliance initiatives to ensure continuous compliance improvement and address emerging regulatory trends
  • Manage and lead project teams by providing visionary direction and decision-making, identifying and prioritizing tasks, closing issues, and reviewing project deliverables
  • Identify gaps in realization of strategic objectives
  • Ensure proper communications to relevant stakeholders
  • Improve monitoring and controls as well as increase efficiency in tracking progress of projects and programs
  • Integrate project plans for all projects (standardizes progress reporting)
  • Build long term relationships with stakeholders across Compliance and all three lines of defense
  • Produce management information as required by program sponsors and program governance and report to senior management and Board as appropriate
  • Manage plans, processes and programs to ensure the attainment of current and future objectives, efficiency, growth, development and administration of the organization; implementing change as needed

  • Report to Division/Corporate Office/Community daily and adhere to schedule
  • Ability to oversee direct reports daily and provide guidance as needed

  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and move around work environment as needed
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle
  • Comply with company policies and procedure

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline with a minimum of fifteen (15) years of Compliance, Legal, or regulatory risk management experience in the financial services industry.

Graduate degree and expertise in quantitative analysis and substantial experience as a leader driving change preferred or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources You have excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • CFPB audit experience
  • State and Industry Audit Experience
  • Technology involvement – AI/outsourcing/process implementation/efficiency gains, etc
  • Systems utilized – Blend, Encompass, etc
  • Purchase Business Experience (needs to be the majority of where they have historically spent their time)
  • Any experience working with JV’s?
