Area Sales Manager – North & South Carolina

Lead a high-performing team. Grow a thriving market. Shape the next chapter of a fast-expanding community bank.

If you’re a mortgage leader who enjoys building people, opening new markets, and leaving your mark on a growing region, this is the kind of opportunity you don’t see often.

A well-capitalized, aggressively expanding community bank is looking for an Area Sales Manager to drive production and market growth across the Carolinas. You’ll have the backing of strong operations, a forward-thinking leadership team, and the room to build something meaningful.

What You’ll Lead

You’ll oversee mortgage branches focused on originating, processing, and closing residential loans — while shaping a culture of service, accountability, and smart growth.

Your work will include:

  • Growing market share across targeted NC and SC markets

  • Strengthening production and profitability

  • Coaching loan officers to higher performance

  • Recruiting experienced producers who elevate the region

  • Implementing business development strategies that open new channels

  • Keeping a close pulse on local competitors, pricing, and trends

  • Ensuring your teams deliver exceptional customer experience

  • Leading operations with consistency, compliance, and efficiency

Who Thrives Here

This role is a strong fit for a leader who:

  • Builds genuine relationships and strong connections

  • Inspires teams to perform at a higher level

  • Has a track record of increasing sales and market share

  • Enjoys developing talent and mentoring LOs

  • Brings integrity, resilience, and strong communication skills

  • Loves blending strategy with hands-on leadership

  • Takes ownership of results and raises the bar

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of retail mortgage production management

  • 8+ years of mortgage origination experience

  • Deep knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, GNMA and agency guidelines

  • Understanding of federal, state, and company compliance requirements

  • Experience driving growth, profitability, and team development

  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills

  • A coaching mindset, innovative thinking, and the ability to execute

A bachelor’s degree and management coursework are a plus, but proven leadership and production growth matter most.

Why Leaders Choose This Role

  • You’ll have the autonomy to build your region your way

  • Backing from a stable, community-focused institution

  • A seat at the table to shape long-term growth strategy

  • Strong operational support so you can focus on people, not problems

  • The chance to grow a high-impact market with tremendous upside

If you’re open to a confidential conversation, this could be the next big step that aligns with your vision, your leadership style, and your long-term career goals.
