
Retail Mortgage Banking | Federal Charter Bank
A well-capitalized Federal Charter Bank is seeking a Regional Strategic Growth Leader to expand, lead, and optimize retail mortgage production across a defined region. This is a senior leadership role for a proven mortgage operator who understands how to build branches, develop leaders, and drive sustainable production in a regulated banking environment.
This role owns regional growth strategy and execution. You will be responsible for expanding the branch footprint, recruiting and developing branch leaders and loan officers, and ensuring production, compliance, and service standards are met across the region.
This is not a turnaround role and not a pure recruiter role. It is a build-and-lead position for a mortgage executive who knows how to scale responsibly.
Lead and grow regional retail mortgage production in alignment with bank strategy
Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing branch managers and loan officers
Provide leadership oversight to fulfillment and operational partners to support production
Drive consistent production performance, accountability, and execution across branches
Partner with bank leadership to expand market presence and branch locations
Ensure regulatory compliance, credit quality, and operational discipline
Coach leaders on business planning, talent development, and execution rhythms
Build a strong leadership bench and succession pipeline within the region
Current, hands-on mortgage industry leadership experience (required)
Proven track record leading retail mortgage production at the branch or regional level
Experience building and managing teams of branch leaders, loan officers, and support staff
Strong understanding of mortgage banking within a federal charter / bank environment
Demonstrated success recruiting experienced loan officers and developing leaders
Ability to balance growth, risk management, and operational excellence
Trusted leader with strong judgment, presence, and communication skills
Federal charter platform with stability, credibility, and long-term growth vision
Senior-level influence with the ability to shape regional strategy
