
A federally chartered bank is seeking an experienced National Sales Manager to lead and scale its mortgage division as part of a long-term national growth strategy. This is a senior leadership role for a proven mortgage executive who knows how to build teams, grow production responsibly, and expand market presence within a regulated banking environment.
This leader will be responsible for developing and executing sales and business development strategies, recruiting and developing high-performing loan officers, and driving profitable growth across a national footprint.
Build, lead, and retain a strong national mortgage sales organization aligned with corporate growth objectives
Develop and implement business plans that increase retail mortgage production, market share, and profitability
Recruit, coach, and mentor mortgage talent and regional leadership talent
Establish performance expectations and consistently meet or exceed production goals
Analyze local and national market trends, competitors, and pricing to identify growth opportunities
Identify and execute market expansion strategies and branch network growth
Ensure training, onboarding, and compliance programs are delivered consistently and on time
Partner with corporate leadership to align sales strategy, operations, and profitability goals
Maintain the highest standards of integrity, compliance, and customer experience
Accomplished mortgage sales leader with a track record of building and scaling high-performing teams
Strong relationship builder with a leadership style grounded in trust, accountability, and collaboration
Strategic thinker with hands-on experience driving production, profit, and market expansion
Proven ability to recruit, develop, and retain experienced staff
Results-oriented, analytical, and comfortable operating at both the strategic and execution levels
Coaching and mentoring mindset with strong communication skills
Minimum 5 years of retail mortgage production management experience
Minimum 8 years of retail mortgage origination experience
Demonstrated success growing production, profitability, and market presence
Strong business development, strategic planning, and execution capabilities
Thorough knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, GNMA, MI guidelines, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations (TILA, ECOA, RESPA, etc.)
Proven ability to operate effectively within a regulated banking environment
High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
Natural leader with strong written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable leading through growth and change
Innovative problem-solver with sound judgment and decision-making ability
Strong negotiation skills and a consistent record of results
