If you’re a mortgage leader who enjoys building people, opening new markets, and leaving your mark on a growing region, this is the kind of opportunity you don’t see often.
A well-capitalized, aggressively expanding community bank is looking for an Area Sales Manager to drive production and market growth across the Carolinas. You’ll have the backing of strong operations, a forward-thinking leadership team, and the room to build something meaningful.
You’ll oversee mortgage branches focused on originating, processing, and closing residential loans — while shaping a culture of service, accountability, and smart growth.
Your work will include:
Growing market share across targeted NC and SC markets
Strengthening production and profitability
Coaching loan officers to higher performance
Recruiting experienced producers who elevate the region
Implementing business development strategies that open new channels
Keeping a close pulse on local competitors, pricing, and trends
Ensuring your teams deliver exceptional customer experience
Leading operations with consistency, compliance, and efficiency
This role is a strong fit for a leader who:
Builds genuine relationships and strong connections
Inspires teams to perform at a higher level
Has a track record of increasing sales and market share
Enjoys developing talent and mentoring LOs
Brings integrity, resilience, and strong communication skills
Loves blending strategy with hands-on leadership
Takes ownership of results and raises the bar
3+ years of retail mortgage production management
8+ years of mortgage origination experience
Deep knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, GNMA and agency guidelines
Understanding of federal, state, and company compliance requirements
Experience driving growth, profitability, and team development
Strong analytical and decision-making skills
A coaching mindset, innovative thinking, and the ability to execute
A bachelor’s degree and management coursework are a plus, but proven leadership and production growth matter most.
You’ll have the autonomy to build your region your way
Backing from a stable, community-focused institution
A seat at the table to shape long-term growth strategy
Strong operational support so you can focus on people, not problems
The chance to grow a high-impact market with tremendous upside
If you’re open to a confidential conversation, this could be the next big step that aligns with your vision, your leadership style, and your long-term career goals.
